Making a chain

Making a chain

WALT: 1 .write  a recount

           2. integrate maths and writing

On monday we made a chain by using A5 paper.  Making a chain was so easy use these equipment and having partner. My partner name was lorenzo.

First me and lorenzo had to estimate how long would chain would be. So both of us had to discuss  how long would our chain would be. So we have to plan how can look like and how long would it be?. Show when we finished discussing we started to make our chain.

Next we use the ruler and draw lines on the A5. Then we cut them into strips of A5 paper.

Then we use the glue to stick the top and the bottom of the strips to make a circle. Then we did the same thing repeating  the pattern by connecting the other strips.

Then we measure our chain with the metre to  see the length of our chain. So we measure it the chain the Length we had was 170 cm.

Finally I recorded my length of the chain and our teacher shared us a sheet to do comparison by using Mean, Median, Mode and range.

A day at the beach

Yesterday my family and I decided to do something in our life. We decided to go to the beach.

While we are at home getting ready to go to the beach, there was some family problem which was  my brother and my mum started to argue about him staying home. So I told my mum it’s his choice If he wanna stay or come. Then I got frustrated with both of them arguing so I decided to take my Staff and walk away. Just after my brother decided to come with us.

First we walked through the park then we walk left side. It was 12:35 and we were almost there .

It was cool to spend time with my family talk to them and sharing things. So we cross the road

So it was only my dad and I who crossed while the others went and got something to eat for us.

When we finished walking while the others were gone I ask him “ Have you ever wonder you have feeling there is going to be an argument”. So he replied to me “ Yes”. When I saw others walking I was thinking that they walk very slow. I was laughing to myself because I was making jokes about them.

When they arrived at Point England Beach ,we have to find a spot for us to do some fishing and to relax. Then we found a spot for us to enjoy ourselves. We found a big rock to relax there. Luckily we brought our mat to lay on. When we got there we put our mat down and we had fish and chips. So we had to wait for the tide to come in. My mum brought some squid from the fish shop in Glen innes. We used the squid for our bait. I almost caught a fish. It was biting my bait. But the fish got away.

Thereafter we shifted to the rock beside us. I was really mad because we had the spot first. When we climbed up the hill. We relax there and waited for my brother and my dad to get  some fish. But no luck.

Finally we went home empty handed.

It was a very good day

This week  we were learning  about deci-mats. On my first picture  I color brown to represent the deci- mats. On my second picture brown to represent the deci-mats. Then on my third picture I color purple to represent the deci- mats. Today on my last picture I cut a piece from each paper.

But when I found out that the thousands was the smallest and  I felt really shocked.

 I think the All blacks will win victorious because they work so hard to make it to the finale of the rugby world cup. Also the Austraila
They also tried their best and skills to make to the finale too. 

So I think that the all blacks is going to win. For addition for the score for the all blacks is 57 to 29

Basic Facts Test

WALT: writing a reflection on my Basic Facts result

Yesterday we did our basic facts test.The stage that I did was Stage 6.Today I got my basic facts result and When see my basic facts result I thought to myself that I need to try more harder and harder. My score did I got was 562. My score before was 564.

When I got 562 I knew that I am not making any Improvements. The reason why That I got 562% Because I didn’t finished my basic facts. My basic fact was incomplete so maybe next time I want to try to complete my basic fact test and Accelerate more in my basic facts.

What I want achieve in my e asttle test is try to get a 3A.  

Studyladder

The site that  I went on  is called studyladder . Studyladder  is site that good for student to go on and learn to help them with their vocabulary from the game that  they played. The game that I played is called fraction game . To play the the fraction game  you have to click on the right answer then press a button that say enter  to go on the next question . In this game It was easy because I learnt  a bit of  fraction . So I  got 10 correct In the game . It was fun . Maybe next time on  another game  I will try harder and  Think harder  in my maths .

Bubble Fun

Today I was playing a game called bubble fun. To play bubble fun you need to click and drag with your bubble wand to blow a bubble around the bug.When you get  some of bugs the  question will ask you if the word problems are addition , subtraction , Multiplication and division. When your catch more bugs your points will go high. Today my score was 425 so maybe next time I will try to do my best to reach to 1300. So the best thing is to figure what is the word problem rather it is multiplication , Addition , subtraction , division. The Genie was the best Genie of all times. One day he came to into our class. One of the student came up to him with a bad manners. Then I walked up to the Genie wishing that I want to show respect by talking nicely at all times and use my manners also focus on my work and do not show my bad behaviour in class ever again. Being a good student in class is amazing because once you are a great student you will receive good luck.

From the lamp a genie appeared and wished me honesty. Being honest about giving money to other people is just silly. I cannot buy friends. I realised I carried a lot of wait and I am going to do something about it. I am a good girl and respect the teacher whenever she’s stressing. I’m also worried about my mother's health. I also do cooking and cleaning and get really tried. This work makes me lack honesty. I will need to improve being honest at school and at home because sometimes I can be dishonest about everything at school and at home.

Genie wanted the students in room 11 to behave and to be a loving person. The genie is confident whenever he does his job to solve people’s problems and he uses his brains to think about everything in his working place. When a genie appeared the meanest boys in class. The genie gives a student bad luck because the students was being very rude to him.

Basic Facts

     

Today I was doing a basic facts test. The test I did was stage 5. Today  stage 5 was  a little bit hard but managed to solve the problem out. I did well on multiplication  and division also addition to 20 . And also I did well on 100s and 1000s. But the one didn't do well was Grouping with 100. So maybe next time I will try my hardest to focus on that strategie then I could Score 60/60 to accelerate my level.

Today I was playing a maths game but the maths game was called

Basic Facts

Today I did in maths was  basic facts. The I was doing was stage 5. Stage 5 was a little confusing this time so tried really hard to get it right but the score was 51. I did well on multiplication and 100s and 1000s also addition and  division. So the one I didn't do well was grouping within 100s and subtraction. So maybe next time I will try to do the my  hardest so  I can to improve my maths  and learn my strategies in math. Then maybe next time I will try to score 60 out of 60 to reach stage 6.

A hot day at the beach

It was hot day at Steven house. So Steven had an idea that Steven and his family could go to the beach. Steven went to ask his mum. “ Mum can we go to the beach? “ asked Steven. His mum said  “ ,Sure we can go  to the beach but don’t forget to get your towel and your clothes”.

Steven and his mum entered the car. Their car has white shiny rims with  shiny windows. Then his mum started the car and went off. Finally ,they arrived at the beach. With fresh air passing through their hair they felt relaxed. Steven was excited to swim in the sea but first his mum needed to find a spot where they can sit under the tree for some shade. Dad went to get some ice cream from the ice cream truck. Steven’s dad came back from the ice cream truck.

He gave out the ice cream to the family. But then Steven’s little brother made a

mess so his father knelt down to wipe his face. After that Steven can go for a swim with his father. Steven felt very happy to enjoy his day at the beach.

Hockey lesson

Today we were learning how to play hockey. first we need to use equipment. The equipment was a hockey stick and a ball.

Second we were juggling the ball with a hockey stick to see who could juggle the ball for long time. Finally  we play actual hockey game. But before we need to learn hockey we need to learn the safety rules of hockey.

• Do not hold the hockey stick up in the air or else the other person will get hurt

• Bend your knees and hit the ball

• don’t hold the stick above knee

• Do not swing the hockey stick or play swords with it

• hold the hockey stick with the left arm

• Then hold the stick with your right arm on the colour part

    

• do not bend your back all else your back might get sore

I hope you learn how to play hockey.

Grandpa's Workshop

WALT:write personal narrative from a picture.

In the sunny morning my grandpa and I were on our way to his wood workshop.Grandpa had white hair and brown eyes.Grandpa love to do wood at his workshop . It was just 7:00 am My grandpa and I were heading to the workshop in his car. His car was blue with shining rims and has shining windows. It was so exciting that I am going to grandpa’s workshop. Grandpa’s workshop was in town so we have to travel along way  there.

It was 9:00 am my grandpa and I were nearly to town. But there was a stormy weather coming our way  so we had to find a hotel to sleep in for the day. I got really anxious. Then we met this man name John. John had brown hair and blues eyes. John was a manager for the hotel. We have to pay him $50 to sleep in the hotel. So we slept there for the day. The next my grandpa  and I was continuing going to his workshop. We were  nearly at his workshop it was finally happening but then there was a traffic so we waited for so long to get to his workshop. I was shocked so we have to wait for 2 hours until the traffic have to ended. It was frustrating.We were hungry, Thirsty and tried .But finally the traffic . So we continuously drive through the city we nearly  at his workshop. Then we stop at his workshop.

His workshop was light brown

with a sign says “grandpa’s woodshop” and with a  piece of wood on it.

So we still had time to build a birdhouse. So my grandpa and I were rushed to work. My grandpa was build the rooftops will I was do the side of the birdhouse. Next we need to do the floor. After that we need to add the front of the birdhouse with a big wide door so that the bird could fit inside the house.

Later we need to paint the birdhouse with lot of design on it. Finally it was finished so the only we need to do is to find the birdhouse a tree so the bird

could visited every time.  So we went outside  to search for a tree for the birdhouse. So we  looked everywhere even the park there was no tree. But then there was one tree so place it there for birds to visit and lived inside the birdhouse. I reckon that going to my Grandpa’s workshop was the best idea and holiday ever.

One strange dream.

When I opened the door and I was really confronted  because my bedroom was full of water but there was a terrifying shark too.It was very interesting  I never had any room like that before.Then I opened the next door.

My  brother was gobbling all my clothes.I was very disappointed I feel like I just want to rip my ears off.But then I was think That it  start getting more stranger.

I opened the next  door again.My sister room was very dirty with dirty socks , dirty shoes even a dirty stinking  t-shirt.It was very horrible.I could never hardly breath in there.But my sister  would never ever leave her room dirty.She I always clean her room.

The last door I went in was my parents room .My parents room was normal but it has a problem. Their room  has  lot of spooky bats also there was a spooky monster. I was frightened also little bit fluid on the other side. I was about to scream and yelled but first I need it to stay calm so I did.

I felt very tired so I went to sleep.After that I woke up. I was in my room. First I check  my room. Luckily  It was back to normal.What a strange dream.

Red poppy

Red poppy

Red poppy is a symbol of remembrance of the people  who died  during the wars. John Mccra  Who had the Idea for using the red poppy as a remembrance of the soldiers. He was inspired  by the red poppies . So he wrote the poem  of the red flower .

A lady name Moina Michael was the first new zealander to make the poppy as a memorial  symbol.

Also used since 1921 . NZ  had there first poppy day on ANZAC day in 1922 .

Alien puctuation

This game is  called alien punctuation.To play this game is to click on the capital letter also full stops. In this game I have learn   is use the full stops and capital letter in the right place and the right time.Maybe next time on the next game I will try more  harder. Also maybe in writing I will  focus on my writing and  learn more.

Aroha and The chief

WALT: Create a maori myth (narrative)

Aroha and the chief

Many years ago up on the mountain there was a boy named Aroha. Aroha was a very brave person. Aroha had really black curly hair and brown eyes like the bark of a tree. Sometimes Aroha liked to play with with his younger brother Aote. On that day his brother Aote was sent to go fishing for his family. Aote went on his boat and went to sea. In the afternoon Aroha was waiting for his brother Aote. Aroha was really worried about his brother. Later that afternoon it started to get darker. It was getting late so Aroha went back home to go to sleep.

The next day Aroha went back to the spot where he was the night before. He saw   his brother’s boat floating across to him with nobody on board. Aroha was staring   at his brother’s boat. He got very anxious.  

In the  afternoon  he heard big loud stomping coming up the hill. There was a smell of smoke drifting through the air. When Aroha looked outside  he started to get angry.  He went outside looking furious. Then a chief from another tribe came in front of his warriors. The chief looked vicious. His hair was black as darkness and his eyes were red with rage. The chief had his sharp pointed spear.

His warriors brought  forward his brother Aote with lot of cuts and bruises. Aroha was very angry so he said to the chief “Why have you got my brother Aote? ”. The chief said “ We  are going to kill your brother because he stole our fish from our tribe’s ocean”.   

Aroha and the chief went to war but before that Aroha said to him “ E kore au e korero he toa toku tipuna.” And he added “ That means I would never say that my ancestors were courageous in battle”.

Aroha  and  the chief went to war! “Keritanga!” Aroha was by himself fighting with the chief for the last man standing. There would be no other way. So the war was almost beginning to become a tie. But there was only one hero to live for.

The battle had a shocking ending. The chief was killed by the hand of Aroha. So Aroha won the battle and his brother was free. The warriors went back to their tribe for good.

                              So that’s how Aroha defeated the enemy.

Basic Facts Test

Today I was doing a basic facts test. The test I did was  stage 5. The test was a little easy. I did well on   the addition and subtraction to 20. Maybe next time I will try to learn more about grouping  within 100 and I could use the strategies I learn to help me to get it right. The score I have was 54 out of 60. I only need 6 more correct to reach  stage 6.

Basic facts test

Today  I was doing a basic facts test. The stage I did was stage 5.
Stage 5 was a little bit Hard but I tried my best. My score was 53 out of 60.I  only got 7 more wrong. Maybe next time I  might get them alright .The reason It was a little bit Hard  because I was  trying to workout groupings within  100 with addition and subtraction strategies But I try my best get them alright. To go on this you needed to go on www.prototec.co.nz . Then once you see the word basic facts test click on it. Then set the stage what you need to go on. Maybe next time I will try my hardest to solve grouping within 100  and try to focus on my maths. I hopefully this could help me next time in my basic facts test .

Why  the bear has a stumpy tail

One day in the woods the bear and the fox met. On that day the fox was playing a little funny trick on the bear. He told him how he got the fish. So he explain his fake plan instead of  his real plan. So he told him go to a lake and use your tail  Then you would hear snap sound that means the  fish bit you. Then you  twist your tail so the fish can  fall  off beside  hanging  on to your tail. So the bear felt for trick so he tried   the fox fake plan instead of  the real  plan. Snap he heard a sound  he saw no fish and no tail so all he has is  a small size stumpy tail.

These two monkey are best friends.They both like brothers to each other.One is delightful and  one is courageous also most delighted too.They like swinging to trees to trees. In the jungle they like eating bananas too.Their was a problem.His friend was rushing through trees to find his friend and tell what happen to him.

The monkey who is listening   is called  Blueberry. He looks  angry .The monkey who is whispering  is called Jack.  He is talking about something that his best friend does not like. Blueberry  on the side looks  furious and  feels like he  does want to  hit someone.

Blueberry was continuously frustrated.Jack just told him that a ape was  chasing him. Blueberry wanted to hit that ape but he needed  to calm down .He found the ape. Blueberry went to the ape bravely. He went to talk to the ape courageous feeling inside of him. The ape told that he didn't want to hit his friend.He just want to have friend because he don’t have any friends.So then blueberry apcected  him as a friend too.
