WALT: Write a information report

Did you know corn is  in New zealand and they use to call it in the early day maize. Today I am going to teach you about history of corn. In 1769 According to this  Captain James Cook and his European explorers were the first people to  discovered and brought corn to New Zealand in that time . But in New Zealand the Maoris had only potatoes and squash but no corn.

So according to yen James Cook had the corn and gave the corn to the maoris and they  first plant the corn around 1772- 1774.Then we can believe that Captain James Cook was the first explorer to brought corn to New Zealand.

In the corn history the corn can only grow summer and spring and did you know corn can grow in these month like  january, february, september, november, october and december because they are the warmer months for corn to grow. But in the winter season in the other  months  the corn seed can not grow.

In the early days the maoris keep the corn in raw form and share the raw corn with the people or tribe for a trade.

In New Zealand from today we use corn for food like popcorn , Roasted corn, Breakfast cereal  and  boil corn. Corn can be used in many way.

According to yen this how corn get to New Zealand.
